AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Police are looking for a man who tried to rob a Capital Metro bus driver on Friday morning.

Police said the incident started on the bus as a verbal disturbance with a passenger and the bus driver.

The verbal altercation quickly escalated and when the bus stopped at the 6000 block of Techni Center Drive, the male passenger started to assault the bus driver.

During the assault, the suspect attempted to rob the victim.

The suspect fled the scene, running in an unknown direction.

Capital Metro said they have surveillance video of the incident, but they are not releasing it at this time, just the still photos of the suspect.  

The bus driver is OK. 
 

Suspect description (photos):

• Black male
• 5’9”
• Skinny build
• Late 20’s to early 30’s
• Wearing a yellow shirt
