Nuclear Watch : Mandatory evacuations ordered for Los Alamos due to wildfire

Officials say the massive Las Conchas blaze that has burned nearly 50,000 acres is threatening the town of Los Alamos Monday afternoon prompting a mandatory evacuation.
All groups have now been notified to evacuate Los Alamos.
National Guard troops are standing by to assist with the evacuations which proceeded in the following order: Group 1: Western, Quemazon, Ponderosa; Group 2: North Community, Barranca Mesa, North Mesa; Group 3: East of Diamond and the remainder of the town site.
The Los Alamos Medical Center has been closed as well.  There were nine patients in the hospital at the time they were notified about the evacuations. Five of the patients were discharged and the other four were transported to Santa Fe.
