Dallas First 48 Watch : Man gunned down in apartment parking lot on Spring Valley; dies

At 8:13 p.m., a 911 call went out for a shooting in the 5600 block of Spring Valley in North Dallas. We have just confirmed with Dallas Fire-Rescue that they are treating victim for gun shot wounds.THIS IS DEVELOPING. WE HAVE CONFIRMED THIS IS A HOMICIDE. CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES.

UPDATE :

Two men had a verbal confrontation, that became a physical altercation. After the physical altercation, suspect reached in his trunk and grabbed a rifle and shot Edward Whitley of Dallas, in the back three times. The suspect jumped in his vehicle and fled as the ambulance arrived, Mr. Whitley, twenty-eight,  was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES
