from the documentary least of these
By now everyone should be well aware of concentration camps within the borders of the USA. The most famous of them all, is the T. Don Hutto facility, which made national news in 2008 and was shutdown in 2009. Documentary on T. Don Hutto, called the least of these. Grassroots leadership worked extensively over the years to expose this facility and they finally succeeded on getting it closed. Below is a press release from Grassroots Leadership exposing ICE wanting to build a new one in Karnes County, Tx.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement wants to build a new private immigrant detention center in Karnes County, Texas to hold asylum-seekers and other low-level immigration detainees.
Please join Grassroots Leadership and our allies in sending a message to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to stop construction of the Karnes County detention center by signing our online petition.
Today, more than 33,000 people languish in the U.S.'s vast and troubled immigration detention system, with more than 10,000immigrant detention beds located in Texas alone. Despite a mandate for detention reform, ICE has contracted with the GEO Group, aprivate prison company with a long track record of abuse and mismanagement at their Texas prisons and detention centers, to build this "civil" detention center.
Last month, we joined a coalition of 15 Texas-based civil and immigrant rights organizations and sent a letter to Janet Napolitano calling on ICE to immediately end the contract to build the new Karnes County detention center and to investigate options that would prioritize release and alternatives to detention programs for asylum seekers and border-crossers.
New private detention centers are not the answer! Sign the petition to make your voice heard!
